Hail KDF
KDF,how I have mixed feelings for you. Love and gratitude for the many instances thou has come through to my aid,yet disgust and hate for thinest taste,dry and choking down my gut. Still, here I am amid the hate and love, making hail your name for the everythings and nothings that comes with thee.
Dear KDF, thou incarnates the Kenya Defence Forces, defending me and mine from wars of hunger and empty pocketedness. Only you know the acidity of the tears that my stomach walls shed. It is thee that fights many a battle without a rifle and somehow always ends up jubilant.
You know how life can take a hard heavy toll on me at times. My joblessness and yet poor conditions had you heaven sent. From Millers bakery , through Mama Njuguna’s shop you came;oily,fresh and peeping loud. I know how I yanked you out from your under advertised package was inhuman,but what can I say,”A hungry man is an angry man”.
Isn’t how awesome at how versatile you can be! Your ability to flexify to serve the purpose marvels me. From fighting through the masala seasoned tea to walking through the mucky marshlands of Brookside yoghurt,thou still stands equiposed,even through Mama Pima’s poorly soda ashed dolichos(njahí), you beat those unconducive conditions.
I certainly must apologize for the many instances I have detested thee before my friends. The way I have dishonoured thinest altruism and discredited of your messianic deeds in cringing me from the shackles of hunger,near death experience. I truly am sorry, and promise to make amends for my egoistic inactions.
For you come for the poor and not for the wealthy,I praise you today. That the hunger-striken and broke Kenyans may see the light of food,I thank you. That the self acclaimed campus buddies living the high high life be humbled, I honor you.
For the glory you’ve brought Kariobangi’s Light Industries and Kayole’s unmentioned bakeries, I highly acknowledge thy central role in my utterly overrated living.

Nairobi County Government has started an audit of over 600 beneficiaries of former Governor Evans Kidero’s bursaries.
City Hall is suspecting fraud in the criteria used Kidero’s regime to award sh200 milion to over 600 students in the bursaries.
Education executive Muthoni Ouko told
Nairobi News that parents and students will have to wait longer for the verification to be completed.
“No one has cancelled any bursaries, neither are we revoking any scholarship given by the former governor. The county is just undertaking an audit because we found out that those who benefited were not all poor and needy,” said Ms Ouko.
CRONIES
Ms Ouko alleged that some of the beneficiaries are children of City Hall’s staff members and cronies of the former regime who acquired the bursaries through corruption.
She added that the 600 students on record are not visible on the ground, raising the possibility that some of the funds end up in people’s pockets.
“We are also looking for the 600 students who have been receiving these cheques because on the ground we do not see them,”said Ms Ouko.
City Hall has also launched an ambitious programme of sponsoring 1,000 students through high school every year.
